Quant (QNT) is a cryptocurrency and blockchain platform that aims to connect different blockchain networks and enable interoperability between them. The project was founded in 2018 by Gilbert Verdian, a cybersecurity expert and former CISO (Chief Information Security Officer) at Vocalink, a Mastercard company.
The Quant platform is built on top of the Overledger technology, which allows for the creation of “multi-chain applications” that can operate across different blockchain networks. Overledger acts as a middleware layer that enables different blockchains to communicate and interact with each other.
One of the key features of Quant is its ability to enable interoperability between different industries and sectors, such as finance, healthcare, and government. The platform is designed to be highly flexible and customizable, allowing for the creation of customized solutions for specific use cases.
Quant has its own native cryptocurrency, QNT, which is used for staking and governance on the network. QNT holders can participate in on-chain governance by voting on proposals and changes to the network.
Quant has gained significant attention and support from the cryptocurrency and blockchain communities, and many organizations and enterprises are exploring the use of the platform for their business needs. The ability to connect and interact with different blockchain networks is seen as a key feature for the broader adoption and success of blockchain technology.
